TEAMSPEAK VS GAME SERVER SOUND  [SOLVED]

Postby NYCTyger » Sun Apr 19, 2015 3:36 pm

I have an issue which has been going on for a long time, have had many others try to help, but still a current problem with using TS at same time as being on the server, which is why I don't turn on TS when I'm on the server unless I'm asked to do so.

I use a headset and mic. Every time I log in to TS, it takes over the headset, and bumps the server sounds to the laptop's speakers.
Trust me when I say this, I've tried everything to put both or at least switch which sound goes where, but it seems TS has a mind of its own.
I've tried TS options as well as my laptop's options.

Help!

Okay so what exactly is going on, does your mic work fine out of game?

When your in game you cannot hear the game sounds only TS?

Have you tried to run both programs as Administrator?

What type of laptop do you have?

Have you updated your audio device drivers recently?

Do you have team viewer so someone may be able to help you remotely?

Mic works fine. I do run them as admin. Laptop is Dell Inspiron 2012. Still runs great/like new. No probs with it. All drivers running good and updated.

When in game, I use headset/mic. All running great. When I go to run TS, then all game sounds switch FROM the headset to the laptop speakers, and TS sounds is on the headset.
Cant have that especially at night. I've tried everything to switch that -to either: both TS and game on headset, or game in headset and TS on laptop speakers.

I work nights, I currently have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, but I'm usually here during the day.

See if this helps before we are able to get together: http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.p ... post303823

It looks familiar and I think I already tried it. Will try it again shortly to make sure.

BTW -something interesting happened -about an hour after I downloaded Team Viewer, half the websites I log into showed unavailable as though they were down (msn.com, facebook, yahoo, google, etc...). I realized it's not them, it's me when I logged in remotely to my job's pc and those sites are working fine.

After I uninstalled Team Viewer, I was able to get into those same sites. And no, was not porn (lol).

EUREKA!!!!!!!!
Figured it out finally after 2 years! and for all those with the same problem -it's not your pc or laptop.

I think it was the last TS3 patch update about a month ago (?) that made this available or something (I know it was available for me before because I did try all TS settings before to fix this issue).

Here's what you need to do...

On TS, go to Settings then Options:
-Click on Playpack Device.
-And choose Speakers/Headphones.
-Then Apply (of course).
Press Test Sound while your on the game server -should be able to hear both game and TS through your headset.

For those that dont have this problem, it might've been already defaulted to that setting coinciding with your pc's settings.
I've read several others had the same problem, and all feedback lead to the person's pc settings. None of them worked.

Anyway, c u on TS and the game.

I was just telling Dirtygirl earlier you need to set as default and it would fix the issue probably. Glad you got it.
